APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University cross country star Josh Janusiak was named the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week following his third victory of the season.
Janusiak (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) won his first MWC Performer of the Week honor of the season and the eighth of his career.
Janusiak raced to victory at the Gene Davis Invitational with a course-record time and pushed his personal win streak to three this season. Running in sloppy conditions at Reid Golf Course, Janusiak splashed his way around the 8,000-meter course in 25:03.44 to win by 36 seconds. It also was the fastest time in the Midwest Conference this season.
Janusiak, who is unbeaten in three starts this season, topped his own meet record time of 25:43 and beat the course record of 25:40, which was set at the 2014 Midwest Conference Championships.
Janusiak and the Vikings return to action on Saturday when they compete at the Kollege Town Invitational at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis.
