COLFAX, Wis. -- Lawrence University cross country star Josh Janusiak is headed back to the NCAA Division III Championships.
Janusiak punched his ticket to the national meet with a 12th-place finish Saturday at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships at Whitetail Golf Course.
Running in cold temperatures on a snow-covered course, Janusiak completed the 8,000-meter layout in 24:57.7. Brad Hodkinson of Washington (Mo.) University was first in 24:31.8.
Janusiak will run at the national meet on Nov. 17 at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis.
Joe Kortenhof was next for the Vikings as he ran to 45th place in a time of 25:49.7. Lawrence's Ben Schaefer took 110th in 27:00.2, Cullen Allard was 168th in 28:05.6 and Aaron Arthur was 185th in 28:30.0.
Lawrence finished 16th in the team standings with 520 points, and North Central College was first with 30.
On the women's side, Lawrence finished 26th with 775 points. Washington University was first with 58.
Lawrence's finishers were bunched with Alex Chand leading the way in 116th place as she completed the 6,000-meter course in 24:45.1. Molly Doruska was close behind as she took 125th in 25:01.5. Rounding out the scoring for the Vikings were Leah Hawksford (147th, 25:27.3), Alyssa Kuss (178th, 26:13.9) and Natalie LaMonto (209th, 27:07.8).
