GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Lawrence University cross country standouts Joe Kortenhof and Alex Chand led the way Saturday for the Vikings at the Tom Barry Invitational.
Kortenhof placed third in the four-mile race to lead the Vikings to a third-place finish in the team standings. Chand was 22nd in the 5,000-meter race to pace the Vikings on their way to a seventh-place finish.
Kortenhof covered the Colburn Park course in 20:56.5 to finish third. The race was won by Spencer Kirsteatter of Carroll University in 20:46.3.
Rookie Teslin Stecher was next for the Vikings in 15th place in 21:52.6. Cullen Allard was 23rd in 22:35.6, Itai Bojdak-Yates was 24th in 22:41.2 and Aaron Arthur rounded out the scoring by taking 25th in 22:42.5.
Lawrence finished third with 90 points, and St. Norbert College won the team title with 37.
Chand led the way for the Vikings by taking 22nd in 20:54.3, and teammate Leah Hawksford was 24th in 21:10.1. Natalie LaMonto followed in 35th in 22:25.2 with Madeline Taylor in 44th in 23:43.3 and Amanda Endicott completing the scoring by taking 66th in 26:16.5.
Lawrence was seventh with 191 points, and Carroll won the title with 33.
