APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University men's cross country standout Joe Kortenhof has been chosen as the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week for the second time this season.
Kortenhof (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) picked up the honor after finishing second at the Titan Fall Classic last Friday.
Kortenhof ran the fastest time in the Midwest Conference this season as he placed second at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis. Kortenhof covered the 8,000 meters in 26:00, which is 39 seconds faster than any other time in the conference this season.
Kortenhof was the runner-up to UW-Whitewater's David Fassbender, who finished 21st at the 2018 NCAA Division III Championships.
This is the second time this season and the third time in his career that Kortenhof has won the league's weekly award.
The Vikings return to action on Oct. 4 when they travel to the Augustana Invitational in Rock Island, Ill.
