CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Hendrix College softball team pulled away in the final inning Monday and posted a 4-0 nonconference win over Lawrence University.
The Warriors were holding a 1-0 lead before striking for three runs in the top of the seventh.
Emily Stockalper and Stephanie Combs combined on a five-hit shutout for Hendrix (9-10). Combs worked the final four innings to pick up the win. Madeline MacLean went the distance for Lawrence, allowing nine hits while striking out three and walking one, and took the loss.
Kori Looker went 2-for-3 to pace the Vikings (2-3).
Jordan Mallard went 3-for-3 with a homer to lead Hendrix. She homered with two outs in the fourth to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead. Jaydan Hunt hit a solo homer with one out to jump-start the three-run seventh inning.
