Blugolds pull away for victory over Lawrence

CLERMONT, Fla. -- The UW-Eau Claire softball team broke the game open late and posted a 9-1 nonconference win over Lawrence University on Thursday.

The Blugolds pulled away with three runs in the fourth inning and added four more in the sixth to close out the victory. Lawrence was limited to four hits and the Vikings committed six errors.

Stephanie Wilczynski went the distance for Eau Claire (9-7), struck out one and didn't walk a batter. Madeline MacLean allowed nine hits and four earned runs and took the loss.

Ceara Larson picked up a double for the Vikings, and Kori Looker drove in Lawrence's lone run. Katie Rongstad went 3-for-4 and scored three runs for the Blugolds.
