Karnatz (Elmhurst, Ill./York) was chosen for the first team for the second consecutive season, and Larson (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) was one of four freshmen named to the first team.
Karnatz, a sophomore center fielder, sparked the Lawrence offense from her spot as the team's lead-off hitter. Karnatz hit .422 with seven doubles, one triple, one homer, 13 runs batted in and 32 runs scored.
Karnatz collected 13 multi-hit games and had four-hit games against Clarkson University and Grinnell College. She finished with 49 hits, which is the third-highest season total in school history. Karnatz also had eight multi-run games. Karnatz also swiped 21 bases in 24 tries this season.
Karnatz hit a team-best .419 in 18 Midwest Conference games and finished with four doubles, one triple, seven RBI and 13 runs scored. Karnatz also posted a 1.000 fielding percentage in conference play.
Larson, a rookie catcher, hit a team-high .439 and led the team with 10 doubles, three triples, five homers and 25 RBI. Larson also led the team with a .500 on-base percentage and .729 slugging percentage.
Larson smacked a pair homers in a game twice during the season, once against Alverno College and against Monmouth College. Larson collected seven multi-RBI games and posted a season-best four RBI against Alverno.
In Midwest Conference play, Larson hit .410 in 18 games. She picked up four doubles, three triples, three homers and 12 RBI. She finished a .446 on-base percentage and a team-high .721 slugging percentage.
