Four Vikings earn NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors

APPLETON, Wis. -- Four Lawrence University softball players have earned Easton National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete honors.

Kori Looker, Emilia Jackson, Amanda Karnatz and Ceara Larson were honored after achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the 2017-18 academic year.

Looker (Weyauwega, Wis./Weyauwega-Fremont), a senior third baseman, posted a 3.52 GPA. She earned a degree in studio art with a minor in biology. Karnatz (Elmhurst, Ill./York) was honored for the second consecutive season after posting a 3.62 GPA. The sophomore center fielder is a double major in math and music education with a minor in math education.

Jackson (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trail), a sophomore pitcher, had a 3.56 GPA. She is a music education major. Larson (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf), a first-year catcher, earned a 3.50 GPA and is a biophysics major with a minor in math.

Lawrence has had 54 student-athletes receive this honor since the program began in 2003.
