CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Lawrence University softball team dropped a 12-7 slugest to North Park University on Friday at the National Training Center.
The teams combined for 30 hits, and Lawrence belted a pair of home runs.
Ceara Larson went 4-for-4 with a homer, drove in three runs and scored twice to pace Lawrence's 13-hit attack. Maria Reiter went 3-for-4, smacked a two-run homer, drove in three and scored twice for the Vikings.
Hayley Jackson went 4-for-5, and Sam Camiller drove in four runs for North Park (6-4). North Park scored four times in both the first and second innings and added two more runs in the third to take a 10-6 lead after three innings.
Larson and Reiter both had run-scoring doubles in a three-run first inning for Lawrence. Larson hit a solo homer, and Reiter had a two-run shot in the third as Lawrence closed to within four runs.
Morgan Fritchman went the first four innings to get the win, and Madeline MacLean started and took the loss.
