CLERMONT, Fla. -- Emilia Jackson tossed a shutout Monday to lead the Lawrence University softball team to a 3-0 win over Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts at the National Training Center.

Jackson allowed five hits, struck out six and did not walk a batter to pick up the win. Jackson also delivered at the plate by going 3-for-3 and driving in a run.

Six other players collected one hit apiece for the Vikings, and Ceara Larson and Madeline MacLean both drove in a run.

Lawrence (1-4) scored all three of its runs in the first two innings.

The Vikings struck for two runs in the bottom of the first, and lead-off hitter Amanda Karnatz got it started when she reached on an error. Karnatz came around to score on MacLean's single, and Sofie Pedersen later scored on Jackson's single for a 2-0 lead.

Lawrence tacked on another run in the second when Karnatz reached on an infield single and later scored on Larson's single.

MCLA (1-4) got two runners as far as third base, and those were the only two runners the Trailblazers had in scoring position all day. Samantha Feinstein worked the first five innings and took the loss for MCLA.
