CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Lawrence University softball team struck first Tuesday, but Stevens University put together three big innings en route to a 13-4 win over the Vikings in five innings at the National Training Center.

Lawrence led 2-0 after the opening inning, but the Mustangs struck for three runs in the second and third and then added six more in the fourth to pull away.

Ceara Larson paced Lawrence by going 2-for-3 with a run scored, and Maria Reiter had a double and drove in all four runs for the Vikings (1-6).

Reiter got the Vikings on the board in the first when her double scored both Larson and Madeline MacLean. Reiter's ground ball plated Leigh Birt and Amanda Karnatz in the fifth to complete the scoring for Lawrence.

Emilia Jackson worked the first two innings for the Vikings and took the loss. Morgan Fulton went the distance and picked up the win for Stevenson (3-5). Sierra Stark went 4-for-4 and scored three times to lead the Mustangs.
