CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Lawrence University softball team dropped a 5-2 nonconference decision to Albright College on Friday at the National Training Center.

Lawrence led 2-1 before the Lions scored four times in the top of the sixth to grab the lead.

Allison Melahn tossed a one-hitter for Albright (5-6) as she struck out four and walked three. Madeline MacLean worked six innings, allowing seven hits while striking out one and walking two, for the Vikings.

The one hit the Vikings (1-10) got was a big one in the opening inning. Amanda Karnatz led off the game with a walk and Ceara Larson blasted a two-run homer to stake Lawrence to an early 2-0 lead.

Albright cut the lead in half with a run in the fourth on a sacrfice fly before finally breaking through in the sixth. Abigail Lord had a two-run single and Kelly Cembrale picked up an RBI triple to highlight the sixth for the Lions.

Melahn retired the side in order in the sixth and seventh to seal the victory for Albright.
