APPLETON, Wis. -- Three Lawrence University softball players earned Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar Athlete honors.

Seniors Madeline MacLean (Arlington, Wash./Arlington) and Sofie Pedersen (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park River Forest) and junior Emilia Jackson (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trail) all collected the honor after posting a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the 2018-19 academic year.

Pedersen and Jackson were both chosen for the second time, and MacLean was honored for the first time.

Pedersen, the team's starting right fielder, graduated with a degree in anthropology. MacLean, a starting pitcher/first baseman, also earned a degree in anthropology. Jackson, also a starting pitcher, is a music education major.

Lawrence also ranked 79th in the nation with a 3.35 team grade point average.

Lawrence has had at least two student-athletes chosen as All-America Scholar Athletes since the award's inception in 2003.
