APPLETON, Wis. -- The St. Norbert College women's basketball team jumped out to a big first-half lead Wednesday and went on to a 66-21 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University at Alexander Gymnasium.
Sarah Neumann posted a double-double for St. Norbert (5-3, 3-0 MWC) with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
St. Norbert led 12-4 after the first quarter, but the Green Knights took command in the second quarter. St. Norbert scored the first 10 points of the second quarter and started the period on a 17-3 run. Lawrence's Shonell Benjamin scored the final five points of the quarter to trim the lead to 29-12 at the half.
Lawrence opened the second half with a jumper by Nicole Cummins, but St. Norbert then scored the next 11 points to build a 40-14 lead.
The Green Knights led by 32 after three quarters and the final margin was the largest lead of the game.
