APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University women's basketball standout Kenya Earl has been named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week.
Earl (Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City), a sophomore forward, averaged a double-double as Lawrence won two of three games. Earl averaged 24 points and 10 rebounds per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the floor, including 46.2 percent on 3-pointers.
In a 69-49 win over Maranatha Baptist University, Earl scored 18 points, grabbed nine rebounds, handed out three assists and picked up three steals. Earl followed that with a career-high 28 points and 13 rebounds in a 70-64 victory over Illinois College to open the conference season. Earl finished the week with 26 points and 10 rebounds in a 61-52 loss to Grinnell College.
In the final two games of the week, Earl went 6-for-10 from 3-point range. She also went 26-for-28 from the foul line for a sizzling 92.9 percent. On the season, Earl is leading the Midwest Conference in scoring at 20.3 points per game and is averaging 8.3 rebounds per contest.
This marks the second time Earl has been named the MWC Player of the Week as she also was chosen on Dec. 4, 2017.
Lawrence (3-3, 1-1 MWC) returns to action on Wednesday when the Vikings travel to Knox College.
