Vikings fall at St. Norbert

Shonell Benjamin scored 12 points as the Vikings fell to St. Norbert.

DE PERE, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team fell behind early Wednesday, and St. Norbert College went on to a 69-46 Midwest Conference victory at the Mulva Center.

Shonell Benjamin paced Lawrence with 12 points, and Kenya Earl and Erin Hill added eight points apiece. Hill also led the Vikings with seven rebounds.

Macie Zurfluh led St. Norbert (11-13, 10-7 MWC) with 15 points, and Sarah Ratajczyk had a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Lawrence (6-17, 3-14) trailed 12-11 after four consecutive points by Benjamin, but the Green Knights pulled away over the final five minutes of the opening period. St. Norbert went on an 11-2 run to grab a 23-13 lead after one quarter.

St. Norbert maintained that 10-point edge at the half, and the Green Knights really didn't start pulling away until the final seconds of the third quarter. Olivia DeCleene hit a 3-pointer to give St. Norbert a 49-34 lead after three, and Lawrence never got closer than 15 points in the fourth.
