APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University women's basketball star Kenya Earl has been chosen as the Midwest Conference Player of the Week in the wake of a career scoring high.
Earl (Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City), a junior forward, scored a career-high 30 points in Lawrence's 79-72 nonconference victory over Carroll University. Earl's 30 points matches the sixth-highest game total in Lawrence history and topped her career high of 28 points against Illinois College last season.
Earl, who won the league's weekly honor for the third time in her career, also added 10 rebounds to record the 13th double-double of her career.
The big game allowed Earl to jump up to 12th place on Lawrence's career scoring list. Earl now has 867 points, one better than Dara Rakun, and she is just two points away from passing Carrie Van Groll for 11th place.
Lawrence returns to action on Wednesday when the Vikings host Finlandia University at Alexander Gymnasium.
