Vikings can't dig out of early hole at St. Norbert

Lawrence fell 61-35 at St. Norbert.

DE PERE, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team dug a big hole early Wednesday and couldn't recover in a 61-35 Midwest Conference loss to St. Norbert College at the Mulva Center.

Lawrence was down by double digits just six minutes into the game, and trailed 21-5 after one quarter. The Green Knights would go on to lead 33-11 at the half.

Kenya Earl scored 11 points to lead Lawrence and moved into third place on Lawrence's career scoring list. Earl now has 1,189 career points and moved past Lawrence Hall of Famer Felice Porrata (1,186). Earl also added a game-high eight rebounds.

Delaney Brooks came off the bench to add eight points for the Vikings (5-15, 2-11 MWC) as she hit a pair of 3-pointers. Lawrence's Shonell Benjamin picked up seven points and grabbed four rebounds.

Jessica Boerner went 8-for-8 from the floor and led St. Norbert (7-13, 6-7) and all scorers with 16 points.

Lawrence endured a frigid shooting night as the Vikings went 12-for-48 (25 percent) from the floor. The Vikings were 5-for-26 (19.2 percent) in the first half.
