River Falls pulls away late to top Vikings

Lawrence dropped a 4-0 nonconference decision to UW-River Falls on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

APPLETON, Wis. -- The UW-River Falls women's soccer team scored two goals in the final 15 minutes Wednesday to pull away for a 4-0 nonconference victory over Lawrence University on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Maggie Koehler had a hat trick for the Falcons as she scored the first three goals. Koehler gave River Falls a 1-0 lead with 2:09 left in the opening half. She added a second goal just five minutes into the second half, but Koehler scored again in the 76th minute to put the Falcons up 3-0 Jadelyn Huhn added the final tally with just over a minute left.

Alivia Kons made three saves to pick up the shutout for River Falls. Claire Vinopal stopped nine shots for the Vikings.
