APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University women's soccer standout Wakana Komura has been named to the All-Midwest Conference team.
Komura (Tokyo, Japan) was chosen for the second team in a vote by league coaches.
Komura, who is attending Lawrence this academic year in a cooperative program between the college and Waseda University in Japan, earned the vote of league coaches despite a lack of team success by the Vikings. Komura scored against St. Norbert College and picked up assist in a nonconference game with Rockford University for her three points on the season.
Komura's selection marks the 23rd consecutive season that Lawrence has had at least once player chosen for the all-conference team.
