Tolu scores twice as Vikings rally past Lakeland

Lawrence scored three straight goals to down Lakeland 4-2.

PLYMOUTH, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's soccer team scored the final three goals Sunday to post a 4-2 nonconference win over Lakeland University at Taylor Field.

Samantha Tolu scored two goals and picked up an assist, and Hallie Sogin had a goal and an assist for the Vikings (4-2). 

The game started with a flurry of goals with three tallies in the first 5:36. Lakeland scored first, and Tolu took a pass from Sogin and scored at the 4:44 mark to tie the game at 1-1. Lakeland scored again at 5:36 to grab a 2-1 edge.

Tolu tied it for Lawrence in the 23rd minute when she took the ball from a Lakeland defender and beat the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation to tie it at 2-2.

The scored stayed that way until 59:14 when Sogin scored off a pass from Tolu to give the Vikings a 3-2 advantage. Jackie Blake then pushed Lawrence's advantage to 4-2 when she scored off a pass from Ellie Younger at 68:39.

Sarah Yochem made one save to pick up the win for the Vikings. Lawrence had a 20-9 edge in shots.
