APPLETON, Wis. -- Jackie Blake scored both goals for the Lawrence University women's soccer team Wednesday as the Vikings overcame an early deficit to beat Wisconsin Lutheran College 2-1 in a nonconference game on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Blake scored early in the second half to tie it and then put the Vikings on top to stay with just under 20 minutes remaining.

Lawrence (5-2-0) gave up a goal just 1:14 into the match, but the Vikings bounced back to generate multiple scoring chances in the opening half. Lawrence couldn't cash in as one shot hit the post and another deflected off the crossbar.

Blake got the Vikings on the board at the 54:20 mark as she took a nifty pass from Samantha Tolu and beat Wisconsin Lutheran goalkeeper Grace Asplin to tie the game at 1-1.

The Vikings took the lead at the 70:49 mark when Blake rifled a free kick from 28 yards out into the upper corner for a goal and a 2-1 edge.

Sarah Yochem made two saves for the Vikings to earn the victory. Lawrence posted a 23-5 edge in shots.
