Vikings shut out by Lake Forest

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 Midwest Conference decision Saturday to Lake Forest College on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Lake Forest scored early in the match and then added a pair of late goals for the final margin.

Sangjun Hornewer scored in the 14th minute and the score stayed 1-0 until Raven Dziedzinski made it 2-0 in the 74th minute. The Foresters added the final tally just under nine minutes later.

Sarah Yochem stopped 11 shots for the Vikings, who finished the season with a 9-10 record, which is a nine-win improvement over 2018. Maggie Kersting didn't have to record a save to post the shutout.

Lake Forest had a 28-2 edge in shots.
