APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University swimming standout Erin Lengel was named the Midwest Conference Swimmer of the Week.
Lengel (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) won the award after winning a pair of events in a dual meet with UW-Oshkosh this past Saturday at Boldt Natatorium.
Lengel took first in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.59 seconds and swam to first in the 100 butterfly in 1:01.41. Lengel's time in the 100 butterfly is the second-fastest in the Midwest Conference this season, and her time in the 50 freestyle ranks third-best.
This is the second time this season that Lengel has been named the MWC Swimmer of the Week. She also took the honor on Oct. 31 after leading the Vikings to a victory over Ripon College.
Lawrence is back in action on Saturday when the Vikings travel to Illinois Tech.
