BROWN DEER, Wis. -- The Lawrence University swim teams were paced by several relays as they opened the season at the All-Wisconsin Showcase at the Schroeder Aquatic Center.
On the women's side, a pair of relays recorded sixth-place finishes. The 200-yard medley relay of Erin Lengel, Emmi Zheng, Sarah Schweickart and Lizzy Garcia took sixth in 1:57.97. The 400 free relay of Lengel, Garcia, Bridget Duero and Mandy Marsh took sixth in 3:51.15.
The Lawrence men were led by the 200 medley relay team of Max Stahl, Tom Goldberg, Liam Wulfman and Anton Hutchinson placed sixth in 1:43.90. The 400 free relay of Stahl, Hutchinson, Goldberg and Nuwa Serunjogi grabbed seventh in 3:28.86.
The top individual finisher for the women was Elise Riggle, who raced to eighth in the 400 individual medley in 5:05.05, and grabbed 12th in the 500 freestyle in 5:42.29. Caitlyn Lansing had a pair of top-15 finishes as she took 10th in the 200 breaststroke in 2:38.00 and 15th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.50. Zheng grabbed 12th in the 200 breastroke in 2:39.55.
Lengel took 13th in a pair of events, the 200 freestyle in 2:02.07 and the 100 butterfly in 1:02.78. The other top-15 finisher was Alena Hanson, who was 14th in the 200 butterfly in 2:50.35.
Hutchinson led the men by placing 12th in the 500 freestyle in 5:03.56, and Jordan Spalding was 13th in the 400 IM in 5:07.13.
