APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University women's swimming standout Erin Lengel has been named the Midwest Conference Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season.

Lengel (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) was chosen after leading the Vikings to the team title at the Gene Davis Invitational this past weekend.

Lengel won two events and swam on a winning relay team as the Vikings grabbed the first-place trophy in their own Boldt Natatorium. Lengel raced to first in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:59.95 and took the top spot in the 100 butterfly in 1:01.74. Lengel also tossed in a third-place finish in the 200 backstroke in 2:17.99.

Lengel also teamed with Sarah Schweickart, Caitlyn Lansing and Lizzy Garcia to win the 200 medley relay in 1:55.07. Lawrence took the team title in the seven-team meet with 591 points, edging Carroll University for first place.

This is the second time this season Lengel has been honored with the conference's weekly award. She also won after her performance in the season opener at the All-Wisconsin Showcase.

Lawrence returns to action on Nov. 30-Dec. 1 when it travels to the Pioneer Classic in Grinnell, Iowa.
