CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. -- Lawrence University's Maddy Smith finished 23rd on the 3-meter board Saturday at the NCAA Division III Diving Central Regional at the Class of 1950 Natatorium at Wabash College.
Smith, a first-year student from Oshkosh, Wis., put together a score of 341.00 for the 11 dives. Agnes Lo of the University of Chicago won for the second consecutive day as she finished with a score of 477.25.
Smith had an average score of 31.00 and posted her best score of the day at 39.15 on her final dive of the competition, an inward 2 1/2 somersaults in the tuck position. Smith's top individual scores were a pair of 6.5s on a backward dive in the pike position.
Smith, who also finished 23rd on the 1-meter board on Friday, is the first Lawrence women's diver to reach the NCAA Regional.
