Relays lead the way for Vikings at All-Wisconsin Showcase

Diver Maddy Smith posted a pair of top-12 finishes in diving at the All-Wisconsin Showcase.

BROWN DEER, Wis. -- The relay teams led the way Saturday for the Lawrence University swimming and diving teams at the All-Wisconsin Showcase at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center.

The top finisher was the women's 200-yard medley team of Erin Lengel, Elise Riggle, Mandy Marsh and Caitlyn Lansing. They finished sixth in 1:58.94. The women's 400 freestyle relay team of Lengel, Marsh, Mae Grahs and Bridget Duero took seventh in 3:56.75.

On the men's side, the 200 medley relay team of Liam Wulfman, Charlie Phillips, Tom Goldberg and Nathan Gault-Crabb was seventh in 1:46.37. The 400 freestyle team of Wulfman, Phillips, Gault-Crabb and Davis Wukovits took eighth in 3:31.69.

The top individual finishers were Phillips and diver Maddy Smith.

Phillips took 10th in the 200 butterfly in 2:12.41 and was 19th in the 500 freestyle in 5:28.37. Smith took 10th in the 1-meter diving with a score of 185.55, and she took 12th on the 3-meter board with a score of 176.75.

Both Riggle and Lengel posted a pair of top-15 finishes. Riggle was 13th in the 400 individual medley in 5:12.37 and took 15th in the 500 freestyle in 5:49.19. Lengel was 12th in the 100 butterfly in 1:02.03 and 15th in the 100 backstroke in 1:02.80.

The Lawrence women were eighth in the team standings with 75 points, and the men were ninth with 53. The meet featured many schools from across Wisconsin, including the NCAA Division I squads from Wisconsin, UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay.
