APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University swimming and diving teams have been honored for academic excellence by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.
Lawrence has been chosen as a Scholar All-America Team by the organization based on their grade point averages for the fall 2019 term. To be eligible for the award, a team must have a minimum 3.0 GPA during the fall semester.
The Lawrence women's team earned the honor for the sixth consecutive year after posting a 3.51 GPA. The Lawrence men put together a 3.08 GPA as it picked up the honor for the fourth time in five years.
The CSCAA selected a record 762 programs from 480 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for fall 2019.
Lawrence returns to action on Feb. 14 when it travels to the Midwest Conference Championships at Grinnell College. The Lawrence women took second at the 2019 MWC Championships, and the men were fifth.
