APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's tennis team swept the doubles competition Sunday and rolled to a 7-2 Midwest Conference win over Monmouth College on the Lawrence Courts.

Lawrence's No. 1 doubles team of Lindsay Holsen and Katie Nottberg posted a tight 8-6 win, and Annie Harincar and El Goblirsch were 9-7 winners at No. 2. Lindsey Lucas and Alexis Shannon cruised to an 8-3 win at No. 3.

Holsen had to go to a super-tiebreaker in the final set to pick up a win at No. 1 singles, and Tillie Teske did the same for the Vikings at No. 6. Nottberg posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 3, and Lucas picked up her first collegiate singles victory with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5.

Lawrence improved to 3-5 overall and 3-2 in the league. Monmouth fell to 1-6 and 1-2 in the conference.
