Lawrence rolls past Prairie Fire

Lawrence's Alexis Shannon was a winner at No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles in the Vikings' victory over Knox.

GALESBURG, Ill. -- The Lawrence University women's tennis team won five of the six singles matches Saturday to roll to a 7-2 Midwest Conference victory over Knox College.

Lawrence (1-5, 1-3 MWC) started the matches with victories at No. 2 and 3 doubles. Alexis Shannon and Lindsey Lucas won at No. 2, and El Goblirsch and Morgan Fisher were 8-0 winnners at No. 3.

Annie Harincar picked up a win at No. 1 singles, and the Vikings swept the Nos. 3-6 matches. Goblirsch and Shannon won at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively, and Morgan Fisher dropped just one game in her victory at No. 5. Lucas rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6.
