Fisher's win lifts Vikings to victory over UW-Stevens Point

Morgan Fisher's victory at No. 5 singles was the deciding point in Lawrence's 5-4 win over UW-Stevens Point.

APPLETON, Wis. -- Morgan Fisher's three-set victory at No. 5 singles on Saturday lifted the Lawrence University women's tennis team to a 5-4 nonconference victory over UW-Stevens Point on the Lawrence Courts.

The Vikings trailed 2-1 after the doubles competition, but Lawrence rallied to win four singles matches. Fisher delivered the winning point with a 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 victory over Lea Beckman at No. 5.

Annie Harincar at No. 1, El Goblirsch at No. 3 and Lindsey Lucas at No. 6 all posted straight-set singles victories for the Vikings.

Goblirsch and Fisher also teamed up for an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

Lawrence improves to 3-6 on the season, and the Pointers fall to 1-7.
