Vikings fall to La Crosse in season opener

Margot Connor made her debut for the Vikings at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in the season opener.

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's tennis team fell 9-0 to UW-La Crosse on Friday afternoon in a nonconference match at the Lawrence Courts.

The season opener marked a revamped lineup for the Vikings, who had five first-year players making their collegiate debut.

Rookie Margot Connor played No. 1 singles and doubles, Lauren Aturaliya played No. 2 singles and doubles, Emma Koppa played No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles, Amelia Watson played No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles and Jacki Healy played No. 3 doubles.

The Vikings return to action on Tuesday when they travel to UW-Oshkosh.
