Lawrence falls to Pointers

Emma Koppa was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 3 singles for the Vikings.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's tennis team got in a big early hole against UW-Stevens Point on Sunday and dropped a 6-3 nonconference decision at SentryWorld Fieldhouse.

The Pointers swept all three doubles matches, including tight 8-6 wins at Nos. 1 and 2, to pull out to the early lead. The teams then split the six singles matches.

Emma Koppa picked up the most impressive win of the day for the Vikings as she rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles. Lauren Aturaliya picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win for the Vikings at No. 2, and Amelia Watson was a 7-6, 6-4 winner at No. 5.

The Vikings fell to 5-4 on the season, and UWSP improved to 2-3.
