RIPON, Wis. -- Lawrence University track and field standouts Josh Janusiak and Noah Shea both grabbed titles on Saturday at the Wisconsin Private College Championships at Ingalls Field.
Janusiak raced to an impressive victory in the 5,000 meters in a time of 15:52.24. Janusiak won by more than 19 seconds over MSOE's Austin Wright, who was second in 16:11.31. Lawrence's Ben Schaefer grabbed fourth place in 16:37.49.
Shea leaped to the title in the triple jump with a distance of 43 feet, 9.25 inches. He easily won the title over Carroll University's David Lembke, who was second at 42-11.75.
Lawrence finished seventh in the team standings with 50 points. St. Norbert College won the title with 151.
Lawrence also took a pair of second-finishes with Jackson Straughan and Max Stahl.
Straughan grabbed second in the hammer throw with a toss of 147-9, and he took eighth place in the shot put at 38-0. Stahl took second in the javelin with a throw of 156-9.
Lawrence also placed third in the 4x100 relay with a time of 45.57 seconds.
On the women's side, the Vikings were 10th in the team standings with 14 points. St. Norbert was first with 242.
The top individual finisher for the Vikings was Fanita Robins, who took sixth in the 100 meters in 13.80 seconds.
Lawrence's 4x100 relay was fourth in 53.51 seconds, and the 4x400 relay was sixth in 4:27.56.
