DE PERE, Wis. -- Lawrence University track and field standout Hannah Kinzer ran to victory in the 5,000 meters Saturday to pace the Vikings at the St. Norbert Invitational at Schneider Stadium.
Kinzer raced to victory in 19:01.95, and Christina Sedall took sixth in 19:57.30.
The Lawrence women placed fifth in the team standings with 40 points. St. Norbert won the team title with 271,
Lawrence's Courtney Fine placed second in the 10,000 in 44:19.11 to lead the rest of the Vikings. Mikaela Hintz grabbed fifth in the 400 in 1:03.12, and Janey Degnan was eighth in 1:04.90. Degnan also placed sixth in the pole vault at 2.47 meters.
The Lawrence men also placed fifth and finished with 58 points. St. Norbert won the title with 208.
Noah Shea and Jackson Straughan paced the Vikings by placing in two events apiece. Shea grabbed fourth in the 400 in 51.34 and was fourth in the triple jump at 12.68 meters. Straughan placed fourth in the hammer throw at 43.47 meters and took fifth in the shotput at 12.25 meters.
The highest finisher was Wes Hetcher, who placed second in the pole vault at 3.80 meters. Joe Kortenhof grabbed third in the 5,000 in 16:07.52 and Ben Schaefer was fifth in 16:23.58. Dan Sandacz took third in the 400 hurdles in 58.34 seconds.
Other Vikings to place were Tanner MacArthur, who was sixth in the high jump, Alec Timpe, who was seventh in the steeplechase, and Gabe Baker, who took seventh in discus.
Lawrence's 4x100 relay team was fourth in 42.25, and the 4x400 was fifth in 3:35.26.
