Lawrence women's track wins academic honor, posts third-highest GPA in nation

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's track squad has been named an All-Academic Team by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Vikings, who were chosen for the second consecutive year, posted the third-highest grade point average in the nation at 3.69. Saint Vincent College had the nation's highest GPA at 3.727.

To be eligible to be an All-Academic Team, a team must have a minimum 3.00 grade point average.

This is another honor for the women's track and field teams, which had numerous student-athletes chosen for the Academic All-Midwest Conference team. The women's indoor team had 17 student-athletes make the academic all-conference team, and 15 Vikings from the outdoor squad made the academic all-conference team.
