BELOIT, Wis. -- Lawrence University track and field standout Molly Doruska won the 5,000 meters Saturday to highlight the Vikings' performances at the Wisconsin Private College Championships at Strong Stadium.
Doruska took the title in the 5,000 in 19:57.59 and won by more than 15 seconds over the second-place finisher from St. Norbert College. Led by Doruska, Lawrence finished seventh in the team standings with 20 points. The other top finisher on the women's side was Nora Robinson, who took seventh in the 100 meters in 13.83 seconds.
On the men's side, the Vikings were eighth with 24 points.
The Vikings had a pair of top-five finishers in the 5,000 as Billy Daniels took fourth in 16:40.35 and Aaron Arthur was fifth in 16:51.76.
Josh Janusiak placed fourth in the 1,500 in 4:12.14 to lead a trio of Vikings in the top eight. Cullen Allard finished sixth in 4:13.87 and Joe Kortenhof was eighth in 4:16.36.
Lawrence's 4x100 relay of Ethan Simmons, Cameron Wicks, Terrell Myers and Sheldon Garmon took fourth in 45.65 seconds, and the 4x400 team of Simmons, Wicks, Allard and Mik Patel was seventh in 3:47.37.
