DE PERE, Wis. -- Lawrence University distance standouts Josh Janusiak and Joe Kortenhof led the way for the Vikings on Saturday at the Midwest Conference Championships at Schneider Stadium.
Janusiak finished third in the 5,000 to earn another all-conference honor, and Kortenhof was fourth. Janusiak finished in 14:55.56, and Kortenhof was right on his heels in 14:57.49.
Both of Lawrence's relay teams placed in the top eight. The 4x100 relay of Sheldon Garmon, Wasonu Allen, Ethan Simmons and Cameron Wicks was seventh in 45.69 seconds. The 4x400 team of Simmons, Wicks, Tom Goldberg and Cullen Allard was eighth in 3:37.84.
The Lawrence men finished ninth with 30 points, and Monmouth College won the title with 227.5.
Molly Doruska was the top finisher for the women as she placed fifth in the 5,000 in 18:54.99.
Both of Lawrence's relays placed eighth. The 4x100 team of Nora Robinson, Imani Duhe, Mikaela Hintz and Emily Hoeft took eighth in 52.87 seconds. The 4x400 team of Hoeft, Hallie Sogin, Natalie LaMonto and Alyssa Kuss finished eighth in 4:18.57.
The Lawrence women tied for eighth with nine points. St. Norbert College won the title with 222.5.
