APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University volleyball team ran its win streak to four matches with a 3-0 Midwest Conference victory over Beloit College on Tuesday at Alexander Gymnasium.
Lawrence won the match 25-13, 25-14, 25-20.
Arianna Cohen led Lawrence (9-12, 4-1 MWC) with 12 kills, and Arianna Neumeyer added 10. Neumeyer also had eight digs and four aces. Cohen, Colleen Nowlan, Addisyn Gerber and Rachael Wuensch picked up two blocks apiece.
Sydney Nelson led the Vikings with 16 assists and picked up 13 digs.
Jaylan Dunn, Taylor Lewis and Chloe Fleming paced Beloit (6-13, 1-3) with seven kills apiece.
Lawrence seized control of the opening set while holding a 15-12 lead. The Vikings rattled off six consecutive points to take a 21-12 lead and closed out the set quickly. The second set was tied at 6-6 before the Vikings went on a 14-5 outburst to go up 20-11. Beloit won the next two points, but Lawrence took five of the next six after that to close out the set.
The Vikings jumped on the Bucs early in the final set. Lawrence pulled out to a 13-3 lead, but Beloit was able to close to 15-10. The Vikings were leading 17-13 when Lawrence scored five of the next six points to seal the victory.
Lawrence hits the road for Midwest Conference matches at Ripon College on Friday and Lake Forest College on Saturday.
