Neumeyer, Bammer named to All-MWC team, Vikings win Sportsmanship Award

APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University volleyball standouts Arianna Neumeyer and Cyra Bammer have been selected for the All-Midwest Conference team.

Neumeyer (Manitowoc, Wis./Lutheran) was a first-team pick, and Bammer (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) was a second-team selection.

Neumeyer, a junior outside hitter, was chosen for the all-conference team for the third consecutive season. Neumeyer was outstanding both in the attack and on defense for the Vikings.

Neumeyer piled up 319 kills with a .132 hitting percentage and finished seventh in the conference at 2.95 kills per set. Neumeyer had a season-high 23 kills vs. Grinnell College and Howard Payne University.

Neumeyer also picked up 427 digs and ranked 11th in the league at 3.80 digs per set. She had a season-high 28 digs vs. Illinois College. Neumeyer piled up 54 blocks and finished 12th in the league at 0.66 blocks per set. Neumeyer also added 34 service aces.

Bammer, a senior defensive specialist, was chosen for the all-league squad for the second straight year. Bammer led the Vikings with 522 digs and she finished fifth in the Midwest Conference at 4.88 digs per set. She recorded a season-high 32 digs at Knox College. Bammer was one of the league best servers and finished with 38 aces. She finished 10th in the conference at 0.36 aces per set.

Lawrence also collected the Sportsmanship Award for the second consecutive season.
