Vikings come up short in tight battle with Grinnell

Lawrence's Arianna Neumeyer posted 18 kills and 24 digs in the loss at Grinnell.

GRINNELL, Iowa -- The Lawrence University volleyball team dropped a tight 3-1 Midwest Conference decision at Grinnell College on Saturday at Darby Gymnasium.

Grinnell topped the Vikings 25-20, 25-23, 27-29, 25-21.

Lawrence's Arianna Neumeyer was stellar as she posted a double-double of 18 kills and a match-high 24 digs. Caitlin Chambers added nine kills and six digs for the Vikings, and Katie Kumbalek picked up 12 digs.

Lawrence's Sophia Galassini collected seven blocks to go with six kills, and Liza Stalcup had seven kills and four blocks.

Lawrence setter Tamia Cephus led the Vikings with 22 assists, and she added seven digs. Averie Miller added 13 assists and eight digs. 

Kaylin Kuhn paced Grinnell with 20 kills, and she added 12 digs.
