After dropping a tight first set, Lawrence and Rockford were tied 28-28 in the second when an ace from Sorensen and a block from Galassini and Caitlin Chambers closed out the set.

After Rockford won the third set, Lawrence throttled the Regents in the fourth as the Vikings raced out to an 11-0 lead. That set up the fifth set, and the Regents scored four consecutive points to take a 13-8 lead, and that proved to be the difference.
