WINNECONNE, Wis. -- Lawrence University cross country standouts Josh Janusiak and Joe Kortenhof ran to top-10 finishes Saturday at the KollegeTown Invitational at Lake Breeze Golf Course.
Janusiak ran to second place and covered the 8,000-meter course in 25:38, and Kortenhof grabbed 10th place in 26:16. Led by this dynamic duo, the Vikings finished 11th in the team standings with 313 points. Augustana (Ill.) took the team title with 97 points. Heidelberg's Austin Neura took first in 25:24.
Ben Schaefer grabbed 66th place in 27:26, and Cullen Allard (111th, 28:29) and Ty Heuer (124th, 29:11) rounded out the scoring for Lawrence.
On the women's side, Margaret Huck paced the Vikings by taking 45th. She covered the 6,000 meters in 24:36. Kate Kilgus and Erin Schrobilgen finished just 11 seconds apart as Kilgus took 52nd (24:46) and Schrobilgen was 62nd (24:57). Alex Chand was 71st in 25:11, and Alyssa Kuss completed the scoring by finishing 80th in 25:23.
The Vikings were 13th in the team standings with 310 points. St. Norbert won the title with 93, and Cheyenne Moore of UW-Oshkosh was first in 22:11.
