Ian Thomas won the javelin for the second consecutive season at the Midwest Conference Championships. A junior from Kirtland, N.M., Thomas fired the javelin 171 feet to take the title by nearly nine feet. Thomas is the first Lawrence athlete to be a two-time conference champ in the javelin since Erik Ehlert in 1985 and 1986.
