SUPERIOR, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team opened the season Friday with an 8-0 nonconference loss to UW-Superior at Wessman Arena.
  The Yellowjackets led 2-0 after the opening period but stretched the lead to 6-0 after the second before tacking on a pair of third-period goals.
  Agnese Apsite had a hat trick for Superior, and Megan Dulong scored a pair of goals for the Yellowjackets.
  McKenzie Whalen made four saves to get the shutout for Superior.
Sydney Seeley made 40 saves, including 30 in the first period, through the first 33 minutes.
Maeve Tallman saw her first collegiate action in net for the Vikings and made 27 saves over the final 26 minutes.
  Lawrence wraps up the series with Superior on Saturday.
