Lawrence stopped by Green Knights

    DE PERE, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women skated away with some positives Friday despite a 7-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association loss to St. Norbert College at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
    Lawrence scored its first goal of the season and had its first lead of the season early in the second period. St. Norbert (4-2-0, 1-0-0 NCHA) scored two goals in the five minutes after Lawrence (0-6-0, 0-1-0) took the lead and pulled away from there.
    After a scoreless opening period, Maggie MacNeil scored her first collegiate goal off an assist by Phoebe Delia to give Lawrence a 1-0 lead just 57 seconds into the second period.
    St. Norbert got a goal from Sydney Luttrell at the 3:23 mark to tie the game at 1-1, and Morgan Olson scored at 5:36 to give the Green Knights the lead for good. Olson would finish with a hat trick for St. Norbert. The Green Knights added three more goals in the second to lead 5-1 after two periods.
    Evi Johnson made nine saves to get the win for St. Norbert. Sydney Seeley made 29 saves over the first two periods for Lawrence, and Charlie Prior stopped 11 shots in the final period.
    The teams wrap up the series on Sunday as Lawrence plays its home opener at the Appleton Ice Center.
