Ā Ā APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team dropped a 7-1 nonconference decision to UW-Stevens Point in a New Year's Eve matchup Friday at the Appleton Ice Center.

Lindsey GulliksenĀ scored her first collegiate goal for the Vikings in the third period.
Ā Ā The Pointers took advantage of the power play early as they scored three times while on the power play in the opening period. Stevens Point then added a pair of goals in a span of less than five minutes in the second period to push the advantage to 5-0.
Ā Ā Stevens Point scored twice in a stretch of 1:18 midway through the third period for a 7-0 lead, but Lawrence got on the board late.
Ā Ā After Stevens Point's Bella Moskonas went sent off for body checking at the 17:36 mark, the Vikings cashed in on the ensuing power play.
Aislinn O'Hagan's pass found an open Gulliksen in the slot, and she slammed the puck home for her first collegiate goal.

Sydney Seeley made the start in goal for the Vikings and made 27 saves while playing the first 28:52.
Charlie Prior came on in relief for the Vikings and stopped 35 shots over the final 31:08.Ā
Ā Ā Olivia Schultz made 14 saves to pick up the win for Stevens Point.
