Vikings shut down by St. Scholastica

    DULUTH, Minn. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team saw its inaugural season end Wednesday with a 9-0 loss to the College of St. Scholastica in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association quarterfinal playoff game.
    The Saints scored four times in the second period to break the game open and then added three more goals in the third for the final margin.
    Lawrence goaltender Katie Jablynski stopped 28 shots in the opening period as St. Scholastica (12-0-0) grabbed a 2-0 lead. Taylor Murray scored the opening goal for the Saints and would finish with a hat trick. Jablynski made 14 saves in the second period and stopped 32 shots in the third to finish with 74 saves for the Vikings (0-9-0).
    Ashlea Arvidson made 15 saves to record the shutout for St. Scholastica.
