ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team saw its season come to an end Saturday with a 5-0 loss to No. 5 Adrian College in the quarterfinals of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs.
  The Bulldogs swept the two-game Slaats Cup series at Arrington Ice Arena.
  Adrian (24-3-0) edged out to a 2-0 lead after the first period and doubled the advantage with two more goals in the second. The Bulldogs added the final tally with 30 seconds left in the game.
  Lawrence (3-24-0) got a superlative effort in goal from sophomore
Charlie Prior. Prior made a career-high 64 saves as she stopped 21 shots in the first period, 20 in the second and 23 in the third. Sophie Goldberg made two saves to pick up the shutout for Adrian.
  Adrian held Lawrence to 0-for-4 on the power play, and the Bulldogs converted 2-of-8 chances on the power play.
